Baba Mahan Dass Memorial Institute of Nursing is an educational bone established by Sant Sewa Dass Ji for the upliftment of young generation.They served the humanity with efforts by constructing Baba Mahan Dass Memorial Hospital & Trust in the year 1988.The institute is run by Baba Mahan Dass Memorial Trust. The trust also runs a hospital by the name of Baba Mahan Dass Memorial hospital.
To raise the standard of women in society, trust took the inspiration to start General Nursing & Midwifery course for girls as a part of Baba Mahan Dass Memorial Charitable hospital & trust.

The hospital combined under one roof a multitude of specialties and super-specialties at all levels.The general clinical disciplines include medicine,surgery,pieditrics,obstetrics & gynaecology.

Baba Mahan Dass Memorial Institute is being directed to stamp up the women intellectually,morally,emotionally& socially as young nurses.we admit the student having high sense of humour,enthusiasm and academic intelligence & high degree of self discipline.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

We believe in principle of humanism which emphasize respect for the diginity and right of a man,regardless of race ,creed,colour,age,sex or social status.with the completion of this course nurse will be able to :-

• Assess the nursing needs of client from birth to death.
• Plan & carry out appropriate action to meet nursing needs.
• Provide effective nursing care for maintaining best possible level in all aspects.
• Promote self care in people under their care.
• Apply problem solving techniques in nursing practice.
• Evaluate effectiveness of nursing care.

Institute is established with a mission and aim to provide knowledge to girls in rural punjab and other neighboring states. We have started this institute to educate girls from underprivileged families, so as after completing this course they can be able to help their families

COURSE OFFERED

Currently the institute is offering Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM).
Eligibility


Age: Candidates seeking admission to GNM course should be unmarried girls between the age of 17 and 35 years. However,as per Indian Nursing Council's letter F.No. 1-5/GB-CIR/2007-INC dated 26.02.2007, married girl candidates are allowed subject to the condition that they should produce medical fitness certificate.

Admission

The Diploma course in General Nursing & Midwifery is of three years and six months duration.

The syllabus of nursing course will be conducted as prescribed by Indian Nursing Council. The course commences in the month of October every year. Medium of instruction for this course is English.

There is a preliminary period of 12 weeks. During this time, the students attend the wards for observation and supervised practice not exceeding 16 hours per Exemption for ANMs/LHVs/Female Health Workers.

How to Apply Application form for admission can be collected from the Institute. The duly filled in form along with the necessary documents should reach the Institute before the last date.

Documents to be attached

1. One copy each of Class X and XII (or equivalent) duly attested.


2. One copy of Mark Sheet of Class X and XII (or equivalent) duly attested.


3. One copy of certificate of date of birth duly attested (not required if date of birth is mentioned in Matric certificate).


4. Character Certificate from the head of the Institution last attended.


5. SC / ST certificate from the competent authority, if applicable.


6. Certificate in the form of an undertaking from the parent / legal guardian of the candidate promising to meet all financial obligations of the candidate during her training.


7. Three passport size photographs of the candidate. Out of these, one attested should be pasted in the appropriate place at admission
form.
